About Opportunity Zones
Opportunity Zones are rural, suburban, and urban areas identified by the government as “underdeveloped” and therefore allow you to use the capital gain you make from the sale of an investment and reinvest into business or new property developments located in Opportunity Zones for a tax reduction.
Reinvesting in Opportunity Zones will reduce the total amount of tax you have to pay on your capital gains up to 15% and—after 10 years—will even eliminate capital gain taxes on the entire appreciation of your initial investment. In other words, your capital invested in Opportunity Zones grows tax-free for 10 years!
About the Keynote Speakers
Joséphine Saffert and Matt Phillips, founders of Olympus Development Group (ODG), will be presenting the keynote. Both founders have impressive backgrounds in the financial and real estate fields.
Since 2011, Joséphine has built a strong professional network within the Greater Nashville Area. She has prior work experience in the European M&A group at Deloitte, and in Equity Research of a $1.3 billion fund at an asset management firm in Franklin, TN. Joséphine now leads ODG’s capital investment management and deal acquisitions.
Matt began successfully investing in homes in 2013 with a buy and sell strategy focused on quick turnovers. He has extensive real estate experience throughout middle Tennessee, working with a wide range of buyers and sellers from low-budget and military clients to high-end buyers with specific needs. Matt leads ODG’s construction operations and the management of project budgets.
Joséphine and Matt are specialists on Opportunity Zones and have educated many investors on the exciting benefits of the tax incentive. Their keynote will cover common questions investors have about the program, including:
